HAVI History: Where It Began

It was May 1974 and two men, Mr. Ted Perlman and Mr. Bob Rocque, decided to form a company to respond to the needs of the McDonald's restaurants system. Later that same year, HAVI built Perlman-Rocque Lemont, its first permanent facility dedicated to provide distribution services to McDonald’s restaurants in the Chicago Metropolitan area. The origin of the name derives from a joint effort as well. HAVI comes from Harriette and Vivian, the first names of the founders’ wives.

As a privately held company, the HAVI Group LP continues to build on the foundations upon which it was originally founded. Today, HAVI has expanded its operations to a global scale. The company is comprised of fully functioning divisions specializing in logistics, distribution, food processing, packaging and administrative services, and promotional marketing. HAVI strives to provide quality, value-added services to its customers. We call this “Delivering the Promise.”
